Presentation
For this exceptional revival, the Hemiolia ensemble joins forces with the Naples-based theatre company Teatri 35 in a unique production combining music, theatre and visual arts. Accompanied by the orchestra, the allegorical figures of Guilt, Grace and Repentance are brought to life through song, while three actors create striking living tableaux inspired by the dramatic paintings of Caravaggio.
Blending powerful musical expression with chiaroscuro staging, this performance immerses audiences in the captivating world of Italian Baroque art. Scarlatti’s deeply emotional score resonates with the evocative imagery inspired by Caravaggio, creating an unforgettable and moving artistic experience.
