Come and experience ‘Juditha triumphans’ performed by Orkester Nord, conducted by Martin Wåhlberg and accompanied by the Royal Opera Chorus.
Composed in 1716 by Vivaldi for the female musicians of the Ospedale della Pietà in Venice, this oratorio depicts the Venetian Republic’s victory over the Ottoman Empire through the character of Judith triumphing over General Holofernes.
Cast:
- Anna Bonitatibus as Juditha
- Anthea Pichanick as Holofernes
- Marie Perbost as Abra
- Ann Hallenberg as Vagaus
- Mari Askvik as Ozias
