Presentation
Soprano Nadine Sierra, one of the finest voices on the international stage, is making a stop at the Royal Opera House to treat you to a memorable evening filled with virtuosity and emotion
The Royal Opera of the Palace of Versailles welcomes the internationally renowned American soprano Nadine Sierra for the first time for an exceptional recital alongside the Royal Opera Orchestra. This prestigious debut collaboration will mark the start of a tour comprising around ten concerts in France and Spain.
The programme pays tribute to two giants of opera: Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and Gaetano Donizetti. The first part celebrates all the finesse and emotion of the genius from Salzburg. From the famous aria ‘Ruhe Sanft’ from the unfinished opera *Zaïde* to the Countess’s romantic torments in *The Marriage of Figaro*, Mozart’s music reveals a palette of emotions of rare elegance, ranging from ethereal grace to dramatic intensity.
After the interval, it is time for the brilliance of Italian bel canto. Donizetti’s heroines come to life through virtuosic and deeply expressive arias. From the sparkling Norina in *Don Pasquale* to the heart-rending heroine of *Lucia di Lammermoor*, Nadine Sierra displays the full range of her vocal talent and her theatrical flair.
Under the baton of Victor Jacob, the Royal Opera Orchestra accompanies the soprano in a programme blending dazzling symphonic overtures and great opera arias. An unmissable event for lovers of classical music and opera in Versailles, which promises to be one of the highlights of the Royal Opera’s season.
