Imagine observing the world from the treetops, a spectator perched high above, gazing down at the hustle and bustle below through the foliage. The forest became your kingdom on the day, at the age of twelve, when you climbed the holm oak* in the park and never set foot on the ground again.
This fable paints a portrait of a free spirit who has chosen to live on the fringes of convention, refusing to submit through humour and non-violence. Yet, at the top of his tree, does Cosimo truly enjoy absolute freedom? Does he not become a victim of his own vow, chained by his pride? A profound exploration of loyalty to one’s principles and the true cost of pursuing an ideal to the very end.
