Come and see a performance of ‘Alexei and Yulia’ by Ferdinand Bruckner, inspired by the prison diary of Alexei Navalny, the Russian lawyer.
Sabrina Kouroughli and Gaëtan Vassart direct and star in a play exploring the dilemmas of a couple consumed by passion – both romantic and political. A gripping, closed-door drama with echoes of ancient tragedy.
On the eve of their return to Moscow, Alexei Navalny — Vladimir Putin’s main opponent — and his wife Yulia face a fundamental choice. Having barely recovered from an 18-day coma caused by Novichok poisoning, he is determined to return. Clear-headed, she tries to dissuade him. Should they brave the danger at home or continue the fight from exile? A couple on the brink, a high-tension face-off where hope, tragedy, humour and commitment intertwine.
