Presentation
Discover the exhibition accompanied by Jacques Rohaut, Official Painter since 2010, president of the Association of Official Marine Painters and co-curator of the exhibition.
On the occasion of the exhibition of recent works by the Peintres de la Marine (Marine Painters), painter Jacques Rohaut invites you to discover a maritime world of diverse and colorful landscapes.
He will present the status of the POM, the association's mission, and the exhibition as a whole, with a focus on the works he is exhibiting. A unique encounter with the artist himself!
Born in Morocco in 1950, Jacques Rohaut pursued a dual career as a painter and lawyer in Paris until 2010. During his studies, he frequented the studio of painter Philippe Lejeune (1924-2014), receiving his teaching and benefiting from the artistic emulation of what is known as the “École d'Étampes”. A guest of honor at several salons in the provinces, he also regularly participates in the major Parisian salons: Artistes Français, Automne, Comparaisons. Morocco and the Palais de Justice inspired Jacques Rohaut's art as much as the Île d'Yeu. In 2017, for a year, at 36 quai des Orfèvres, he painted the legendary headquarters of the Judicial Police and its occupants. The collection was acquired by the Prefecture de Police. He was appointed Official Painter of the Air and Space in 1996 and Official Painter of the Armed Forces in 2000. Administrator of the Belem-Caisse d'Épargne Foundation and the Taylor Foundation, Jacques Rohaut is a member of the Académie de Marine.
