Christiane Rosset was the first woman to be appointed Official Painter of the Navy in 1995!

On the occasion of the exhibition of the Official Painters of the Navy: recent works, painter Christiane Rosset takes you on a journey of discovery through a maritime world of diverse and colorful landscapes.
He will present the status of the POM, the association's mission, and the exhibition as a whole, with a focus on the works on display. A unique encounter with the artist herself!

Born in 1937 in Metz, Christiane Rosset enrolled simultaneously at the École du Louvre and the Atelier d'Art et Décoration de Paris at the age of 18. She worked in textile design, designed wallpaper, created decorative panels, and taught painting from 1971 to 1992. At the same time, she took classes at the Académie de Port-Royal (where she won the grand prize in 1980), and she painted and exhibited regularly. From 1993 onwards, Christiane Rosset devoted herself exclusively to painting and exhibited at the Salon de la Marine, which awarded her prizes in 1987, 1993, and 1995. She was the first woman to join the corps of Official Painters of the Navy.
