Following on from his book Le Pouvoir Rhétorique (Rhetorical Power), Clément Viktorovitch, a doctor in political science with an eye for popularisation, is appearing for the first time on stage in a gritty piece of fiction.
He plays the communications adviser to the President of the Republic who, after being brutally ousted, seeks revenge. His weapon? A conference, in which he decides to reveal all the secrets they used to conquer power...
In this, his first one-man show, Clément Viktorovitch does more than pass on the tools of deciphering: he questions the very place of discourse in our political life. When words are emptied of their content, when communication is reduced to an art of not saying, how can we still form an opinion? Is it still possible to debate? And what if what we have lost along the way is quite simply... the very meaning of democracy?
This lover of language has honed his discourse, which is by turns pedagogical, brittle or jubilant. His demonstration shows the vacuity of the elements of language and gives the keys to deciphering the announcements and traps of political speeches.
