Every first weekend in October since 1993, the École nationale supérieure de paysage has been inviting the public to a festive, cultural and culinary event: Les Saveurs du Potager du Roi.

Every first weekend in October since 1993, the École nationale supérieure de paysage has been inviting the public to a festive, cultural and culinary event: Les Saveurs du Potager du Roi.

During these two days of celebration and culinary delights, which honour the harvest and the gardeners of the Potager du Roi, nearly 5,000 visitors enjoy free access to a large market featuring seasonal produce from the Potager, as well as that of artisan producers from the Île-de-France region and beyond. This event also offers the public the chance to explore the historic site through a programme of cultural activities: a theatrical walkabout, cookery workshops, guided tours and a host of activities centred on flavour.

- Marché des Saveurs (free entry)
The Potager du Roi showcases its fresh and prepared fruit and vegetables at a full-scale stall run by the gardeners and staff. Several artisan producers will also be offering gourmet products grown and processed on their farms using traditional methods.

- Discover the garden and its history: tours, exhibitions and workshops
-- Culinary tour with chef Anel Cusset / Sunday at 3.30 pm — Duration: 1 hour
Discover the plants of the Potager du Roi and their culinary pairings with head chef Anel Cusset.

-- ‘The King’s Salad’ cooking masterclass / Sunday at 4.30 pm — Duration: 1 hour
Chef Anel Cusset introduces you to a delicious salad just as it was enjoyed at the 17th-century court.

-- Poetic walks ‘Nature’s gardeners in the footsteps of La Quintinie’ / Saturday and Sunday, several walks throughout the day
Nature’s gardeners poetically recount the creation of the Potager du Roi by Jean-Baptiste de La Quintinie. Presented by the Acta Fabula theatre company.
