The Association of Friends of Georges Bizet invites you to Berthe Morisot's musical salon at Pauline Viardot's home one Sunday per month, from 9 November 2025 to 12 April 2026.
A new series of concerts will bring to life the links between music and painting in Bougival in the salons of Pauline Viardot's villa:
Berthe's musical salon was also open to musicians of her time, from Rossini and Chabrier to Chausson, while Pauline's salon welcomed Fauré, Gounod and Saint-Saëns.
Sunday 9 November, 3pm and 5pm: Chabrier, Déodat de Séverac, Debussy, Lejet, performed by Delphine Bardin on an 1898 Erard piano – with the support of the Galaxie-Y fund (Françoise Thinat)
Sunday 7 December, 3pm and 5pm: Le poème de l'amour et de la mer by Ernest Chausson, L'invitation au voyage by Henri Duparc, performed by Jean Miannay, tenor, and Ayaka Niwano, piano
Sunday 11 January, 3pm and 5pm: Tribute to the violin of Julie Manet and Paul Viardot, performed by Naaman Sluchin, violin, and Eloy Orzaiz, piano (Erard, 1898)
Sunday 8 February, 3pm and 5pm: Opera paraphrases based on Rossini and Bellini by Chopin, Franchomme, Stamaty and others, performed by Gauthier Broutin, romantic cello, and Hyewon Ha, piano (Erard 1898)
Saturday 7 March: Masterclass: Yann Toussaint, baritone, Anne Le Bozec, piano, professors at the Paris Conservatoire
