Presentation

Mr Sylvain Venayre, university professor, essayist and comic book writer, will present his latest work, Pourquoi voyager ? (Why Travel?), published by CNRS Editions.
Marked by significant scientific and technical advances, the 19th century was also a period in which the concept of travel evolved. Drawing on the works of writers of the time, including Chateaubriand, Michelet, Flaubert, Verne and Rimbaud, the author sheds light on many questions related to the desire to travel and the imagination of departure, among other things.
