Presentation
Come and discover the new exhibition at the Musée de la Toile de Jouy: AMÉDEE COUDER. Textile designer. The origins of 19th-century textile design.
At this temporary exhibition, come and discover the work of Amédée Couder (1800–1864), a textile designer who worked notably for the Jouy factory in the early 19th century. The exhibition invites you to explore more than 50 textile, graphic and technical works, as well as archival documents. Amédée Couder’s work is placed in the context of that of other contemporary industrial designers to provide a better understanding of the relationship between artists and 19th-century Parisian textile printing workshops.
