"Macbett", a play on 27 November from 8.30pm to 10pm at the Théâtre des Arcades in Buc! One of the best-known plays adapted for everyone.
The faithful Macbett, who knows neither fear nor ambition, meets a strange witch. Under her diabolical influence, he discovers envy, jealousy and betrayal, and gradually descends into madness. In an outpouring of “tragic-ubuesque” language, Ionesco questions our impulses, our vanities and our free will. Entertainment for some, a nightmare for others; from tragedy to vaudeville to fairy tale; universal and iconoclastic; an opportunity for everyone to reflect deeply on the mechanics of power.
