Frantz - Mime and sound effects
A masterpiece! The five of them met at the Jacques Lecoq International Theatre School. Five young actors trained in the art of movement, singing, mime and sound effects. With their wild inventiveness, they recount with humour and poetry the adventures of Frantz, a young employee whose father's death turns his life upside down. Using a drill, plastic bags, buckets of water, paper, glass, sheet metal and a host of other materials to create striking sonic atmospheres, these artists transport us into a sensory story full of delicacy and mischief, creating a cocktail of visual and auditory sensations to tell Frantz's story.
Virtually wordless, the elastic Paul Ménage moves without counting the steps and wets his shirt, while his accomplices, virtuoso sound engineers, illustrate the scenes with onomatopoeia, noises and other sounds.
