In 1968, Claude Simon travelled to New York and discovered the works of Rauschenberg. This experience inspired him to write Orion aveugle (Blind Orion) in 1970, part of the Sentiers de la création collection, in which Claude Simon expressed his relationship with literary creation and the visual arts.
