Histoire de Lire, the history book fair in Versailles, invites you to its 19th edition on November 21 and 22, 2026.

From 2:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., come meet the many authors in attendance and take part in the highlights of the event.

2026 will be a year filled with major historical commemorations, and our festival naturally takes its place within this rich historical context. In Versailles, where French history and heritage are woven into the very fabric of the city, this new edition will notably commemorate the 250th anniversary of the United States Declaration of Independence a landmark event with strong historical ties to France.

This important anniversary has naturally inspired this year’s festival poster, which we are delighted to unveil. A nod to history and heritage, the design takes a playful and creative approach to the iconic work of Auguste Bartholdi.

With the greatest respect for the original artist, we hope he will forgive us for this little artistic liberty!
