Bernard Bouin's paintings of Venice and nocturnal landscapes harmonise with Bernard Dubau's paintings of music, seascapes and snowy landscapes.
Bernard Bouin, born in 1945, works on atmospheres with fluidity: the revealing power of light, the calming of nocturnal places, the meditative silence of the sea. His paintings of Venice are not the emblematic images of the Serenissima, but the Sotoportego, and the atmosphere specific to the lagoon.
Bernard Dubau, born in 1938, creates atmospheric paintings. Greatly attracted by the sea and its horizons, he is also interested in music, particularly jazz. Saxophonists rub shoulders with singers in a universe shimmering with colour.
