Presentation

Hélène Arfi, animal sculptor and winner of the François Pompon Prize in 2023, works with wildlife in its natural environment. Her artistic approach is enhanced by the precise and dynamic modeling of the animals.
Hélène Arfi, born in 1957 in Fougères, France, is a sculptor who works primarily with wildlife in its natural environment. Hélène Arfi's favorite subjects are nature, wildlife, and birds, which she observes during her many travels and in zoos. Each animal she observes is reimagined through her imagination, then takes shape and comes to life through her work. Hélène Arfi's artistic approach is essentially figurative. The excellence of her representation of these moments in life is enhanced by the precise and energetic modeling of the animals.
