Presentation
The holiday course allows children to discover a wide variety of artistic techniques. They will learn about the lives of five major artists through readings and then create their own artwork inspired by the work of these great artists.
Weekly programme
Monday 20 October - Joan Miro
10.30am-12pm: imaginary constellations - drawing with Posca pens
12pm-1pm: lunch followed by playtime
1pm-2.45pm: drawing from memory of the object
3:00-4:30 p.m.: recycled sculpture inspired by ‘La caresse d'un oiseau’ (The Caress of a Bird)
Tuesday, 21 October - Henri Matisse
10:30 a.m.-12:00 p.m.: composition using cut-out wallpaper
12:00-1:00 p.m.: lunch followed by playtime
1pm to 2.45pm: creation of patterns using lino stamps
3pm to 4.30pm: room with a view - landscape in acrylic paint
Wednesday 22 October - Vincent Van Gogh
10.30am to 12pm: Starry Night in acrylic paint, playing with textures and movement
12pm to 1pm: lunch followed by playtime
1pm to 2.45pm: pencil self-portrait
3pm to 4.30pm: sunflowers - scratch card
Thursday 23 October - Claude Monet
10.30am to 12pm: paper sculpture of a water lily
12pm to 1pm: lunch followed by playtime
1pm to 2.45pm: watercolour flower garden
3pm to 4.30pm: aquatic reflections in dry pastels
Friday 24 October - Le Douanier Rousseau
10:30 a.m. to 12 p.m.: jungle animals collage
12 p.m. to 1 p.m.: lunch followed by playtime
1 p.m. to 2:45 p.m.: tropical vegetation in acrylic paint
3 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.: clay modelling of a jungle animal
